Simons Town SAPS has registered an inquest for further investigation after suspected human remains were discovered on Glencairn Beach near Simons Town yesterday, Cape town Etc reports.
Simons Town police responded to a complaint on Wednesday and upon their arrival at the beach, they found bones scattered on the rocks.
According to reports, a community member was walking with their dog when they noticed what resembled remains of human bones, according to Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, SAPS spokesperson.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation, said Swartbooi.
