Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has apologised to Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho following his red card in their Europa League clash against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, Soccernet.ng reports .
Fenerbahce secured a 2-1 victory over Umion SG on Thursday, but Osayi-Samuel's night took a turn for the worse after his dismissal.
Having recently returned from an injury layoff, Osayi-Samuel came off the bench and played a crucial role in Fenerbahce's second goal.
His shot led to Union SG defender Christian Burgess scoring an own goal in the 82nd minute, giving Fenerbahce a crucial 2-0 lead.
However, the Nigerian international was shown two yellow cards in quick succession during the closing stages of the match.
