Super Eagles Rise To 43rd In Latest Fifa Rankings

Nigeria's Super Eagles have climbed to 43rd in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, rising one spot to solidify their place as the 6th-ranked team in Africa. This ranking boost comes after their recent 2-0 victory over Rwanda and a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers .
In the African standings, Nigeria now trail Ivory Coast 41st, Algeria 36th, Egypt 32nd, Senegal 19th, and Morocco 12th, who remain Africa's highest-ranked team.
Globally, Argentina retain its hold on the top spot, while Spain jumped to second, pushing France down to third.
Looking ahead, the Super Eagles will take on Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago in London this May for the Unity Trophy. These high-profile friendlies will be pivotal in shaping Nigerias next FIFA ranking, with results influencing the global standings in the July update.
As the Super Eagles continue to build momentum, these upcoming fixtures present an opportunity to further improve their standing both in Africa and on the world stage, as they aim to reclaim their position among the elite footballing nations.
