Steyn Wins Sixth Two Oceans Marathon, Seutloali Takes Mens Title
South African wonder woman Gerda Steyn has won the iconic Two Oceans Marathon on the Cape Peninsula for a sixth consecutive time.
The 35-year-old from Bothaville in the Free State completed the 56-kilometer race in three hours, 29 minutes, and 10 seconds, her third-fastest time ever.
She completed the distance in 8 minutes and 40 seconds ahead of Shelmith Muriuki of Kenya.
Steyn will pocket R250 000 for the win but missed out on another course record by just more than two minutes, which wouldve earned her another quarter of a million rand.
Lesothos Khoarahlane Seutloali won the mens race in three hours, 10 minutes, and 46 seconds, crossing the finish line 31 seconds ahead of South Africas Siboniso Sikhakhane, with Lucky Mohale in third place.
