Stellenbosch might have no better chance to avenge their Nedbank Cup semi-final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns when the two teams clash in the MTN8 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Wednesday, August 28.

The Maroons lost 2-1 to Bafana ba Style in the final cup competition of 2023-24, but the reigning Premiership champions have since undergone a change at the helm, with Manqoba Mngqithi replacing Rulani Mokwena in the off-season.
Sundowns have only played one match in the new campaign and werent at their fluid best as they needed extra time to beat Polokwane City 1-0 in the Wafa Wafa quarter-finals on August 11.
Meanwhile, Steve Barkers side have hit the ground running in 2024-25 after cruising to a 3-1 victory over TS Galaxy in the previous round and they cleared the first hurdle in the CAF Confederation Cup by dispatching Nsingizini Hotspurs 8-0 on aggregate in the preliminary first round.
