State Requests For Recusal Of Jordaans Lawyer
The case involving South African Football Association SAFA President Danny Jordaan and is two co-accused has been postponed in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court at Palm Ridge to next Tuesday for an urgent applications to be heard.
The state argued that, Advocate Norman Arendse appearing for Jordaan, should recuse himself because of a conflict of interest.
It argued that Arendse is also an employee of SAFA and can not defend Jordaan in his personal capacity.
Meanwhile, the defence said it would apply for the matter to be scrapped off the roll due to unreasonable delays and other issues.
It was a second appearance for Jordaan, SAFA CEO Gronie Hluyo, and businessman Trevor Neethlingh.
