Ssa Denies Claims Of Sibonkolo Operation, Calls It Diversionary

The State Security Agency SSA has described allegations about an alleged operation called Sibonkolo as diversionary tactics that seek to undermine progress in reforming the Agency.

The SSA says in a statement released by the Ministry in the Presidency that the Agency does not have an operation called Sibonkolo nor does it have any operation focused on undermining the political ambitions of any individual.

The statement says the Agency is governed by established operational directives. It says oversight mechanisms are fully operational.

The statement comes amid reports in a Sunday newspaper that an intelligence report claimed that Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was accused of abusing state resources to further her political and personal ambitions.
