The Springboks used their substitutes bench to perfection as Kwagga Smith and Grant Williams scored late to see the Boks beat the All Blacks 31-27 at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg in round three of the Rugby championship.
A brace from Caleb Clarke and tries from Codie Taylor and Jordie Barrett offset a five pointer by Bongi Mbonambi and had the All Blacks cruising to victory.
However, Bok coach Rassie Erasmus used his impact players at just the right time and Smith and Williams scored to become the heroes of downtown Johannesburg.
At halftime the All Blacks had led 12-11.
