Springbok Winger Forced Into Retirement

Former Springbok winger Raymond Rhule has called time on his rugby career after an ongoing injury struggle.

The 32-year-old, who has been on the books of French giants La Rochelle since 2020, has struggled to recover from a ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered in training last August. According to renowned French newspaper L'Equipe , Rhule has been forced to call it a day.

Rhule played seven Tests for the Springboks in 2017 and also played for the Junior Springboks in 2012. He was born in Ghana, but qualified through citizenship for the Springboks.

Rhule first made his mark at the Cheetahs, who he represented between 2012 and 2018 before joining the Stormers for a season.
