Southern Sun has concluded a series of refurbishments across five of its hotels in Johannesburgs key business districts, Sandton and Rosebank.

In Sandton, the 24-storey Sandton Towers underwent an interior redesign including the renovation of its Club Floor, Atrium Restaurant, rooftop pool and lobby area. Artistic elements such as sculptures by Anton Smit and a revamped fountain have been introduced. Enhanced guest services now include trained butlers for premium guests.

Southern Sun Sandton refurbished all 301 rooms and suites. The updates focus on improved soundproofing, blackout curtains, upgraded lighting and a new design approach using locally sourced materials. The hotels public areas, including the Eclipse Restaurant and Skye Bar, remain central to its appeal.

Southern Sun Katherine Street upgraded its extended-stay and family focused offering with selected rooms adapted for pet-friendly accommodation. On the ground floor of the hotel, Kelseys Restaurant is now under direct Southern Sun management.

In Rosebank, 54 on Bath has refreshed its Level 4 Terrace and Bar, and updated its leisure spaces including the croquet lawn and pool. Additionally, Southern Sun Rosebanks 318 rooms have been refurbished to include modern interiors and soft finishes. The hotel also upgraded its dining offering with a revamp of its Fresh Restaurant and continues to operate its spa, Zen garden and conferencing facilities.
