The Sol Plaatje Municipality in Kimberley says its working around the clock to restore power in parts of the municipality affected by outages on Friday.
The Municipality says several areas were left without electricity as a result of lightning and heavy rains.
The cause has also been linked to last nights lightning-related explosion at H.A. Morris Substation.
Meanwhile, supply has been restored to large parts of Galeshewe, Tswelelang, Snake Park and Transit Camp.
