Soccer Player Expected To Appear In Court Today After Fatal Crash
A well-known soccer player is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates Court, east of Johannesburg today, following a car crash that claimed the life of a nine-year-old child.
Two other people who were in the vehicle with the deceased suffered serious injuries and are being treated in hospital.
The suspect who plays for Sekhukhune United football club was expected to appear in court yesterday. However, the NPA says the docket was not court-ready.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Thabiso Makgatho says the footballers car crashed into another vehicle on Andrew Mapheto road in Tembisa in Ekurhuleni on Wednesday morning.
Makgatho says a case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and fleeing the scene of the accident has been opened.
