Soccer Legend Hopes Sale Of Royal Am Wont Affect Players

Moroka Swallows legend, Steve Sekano is hoping that the impending sale of the troubled Royal AM team will not affect the players negatively.

Royal AM have not been involved in any match since December 29 when they lost to TS Galaxy, with the league suspending all their fixtures when it emerged that SARS had appointed a curator to take over the day-to-day running of the team.

It is now alleged that SARS is open to bids starting at R15-million for its top-flight status.

I am hoping that whoever buys the club they also buy the players because those players need to start working for their families, because they are breadwinners. It will be a bonus if they get another opportunity to play again.

While the Premier Soccer League PSL has been exploring the possibility of expelling the Durban-based side from the Betway Premiership, the latest developments are likely to put that option on ice.
