Six Uncapped Players Named For Proteas Game Against New Zealand

South Africas white ball cricket coach, Rob Walter, has named six uncapped players in an initial 12-player squad for the Proteas opening match of the Tri-Nations One-Day Series against New Zealand in Lahore, Pakistan, on Monday.

More players will be added to the squad following the SA20 Eliminator between the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and the Joburg Super Kings in Centurion this evening.

Temba Bavuma will captain the squad, which includes newcomers such as Warriors batter Matthew Breetzke and Dolphins fast bowler, Eathan Bosch.

The Tri-Nations series serves as a warm-up for the ICC Champions Trophy tournament starting in Pakistan on February 19.

But a number of first-choice players will be rested after their participation in the SA20 tournament.
