Simon Set To Undergo Ankle Surgery
Nantes head coach Antoine Kombouare has revealed that Moses Simon will undergo surgery in the coming days to rectify an ongoing ankle issue. The Nigeria international missed the last two months of the 2023-24 campaign after sustaining a fractured fibula and he has been suffering the after-effects of that injury this term. Moses recently had the plate and screws removed from his ankle and fibula, but hes still feeling some pain and the French club decided the best course of action was for him to have an operation. Ligue 1 is currently on a winter break and the Canaries are only in action again on January 4 when they travel to Lille, although they will face Drancy in the Coup de France on December 21. Kombouare will not be requiring the services of the 29-year-old winger, who has contributed four goals and five assists in 14 league appearances this season. Moses had the plate and screws removed from his ankle and fibula because he had been in a lot of pain recently, Kombouare was quoted as saying by Ouest-France. We are taking advantage of this period, with the short break coming up, to have him undergo this operation. It will give him two weeks before he can calmly resume with the group. It was really a necessary operation for him.
