Serial Rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi To Be Sentenced Today
The long-awaited sentencing of serial rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi will be handed down at the High Court in Johannesburg sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court this morning.
Phakathi was found guilty of 90 counts of rape, four counts of compelled rape, three counts of causing a child to witness a sexual act, 43 counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault as well as four counts of theft.
He committed the offences in and around Ekurhuleni from 2012 until 2021.
Most of his victims were school-going children, the youngest being nine years old.
One of his victims, who was 14 years old at the time, spoke to SABC News about her eight-year wait for justice.
