Serial Rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi Gets Multiple Life Sentences

The man dubbed the Ekurhuleni serial rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi has been sentenced to multiple life sentences by the High Court in Johannesburg sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Gautengs Eastrand.

Initially, Phakathi was facing 203 charges, however, the state withdrew 55 minor charges. In court, he pleaded guilty to 148 charges.

Phakathi committed his brutal acts in the Ekurhuleni area between 2012 and 2021.

He preyed mostly on school-going children, with the youngest of the victims being nine years old.

Acting Judge Lesego Makolomakwe delivered the sentencing this morning.
