See Cape Town Gets Sa's First Electric Buses

Cape Town's rollout of electric buses has kicked off, with Golden Arrow Bus Services GABS bringing its first 20 EVs into service.

Another 120 electric buses are set to be added to the fleet by the end of the year.

The announcement comes on the back of Cape Town again being named one of the world's most congested cities , with motorists spending a whopping 94 hours a year in gridlock.

GABS described the development as a win for public transport in South Africa.

The company says it has installed 30 charging stations with 60 dispensers in Cape Town and hopes to double that by the end of the year.
