A dog-related incident on Tuesday, 5 November, resulted in the untimely death of Simikuso Simi Ntswayibana 4, who sustained fatal injuries, leaving his community in the informal settlement area of Sedgefield devastated, reports.
According to Johnson Dyan, Ntswayibanas grandfather, Ntswayibana and his friends were playing after attending school at Wielie Walie Creche when a pack of dogs in the area started to chase them.
One of the dogs in the pack managed to reach Ntswayibana, biting him severely. Ntswayibana subsequently ran into bush near Groenvallei in an attempt to escape from the dog, as reported by the Knysna-Plett Herald .
We started looking for him immediately. The community and myself searched tirelessly for him, but we couldn't find him, said Dyan.
I contacted the police and the local councillor for assistance, and it was only just before 9pm that we discovered his body, Dyan added.
