Saws Issues Heatwave Warning For West Coast And Namakwa Areas

The South African Weather Service SAWS has issued an extremely hot and uncomfortable advisory for areas in the interior of the West Coast and Namakwa regions, as well as a majority of the Western Cape, for Tuesday, 21 January, and Wednesday, 22 January.

Daytime temperatures between 37C and 42C are expected during this time. In the City of Cape Town, temperatures are expected to reach between 34C and 37C on Wednesday, 22 January.

Citizens are therefore advised to take the necessary precautions, as these weather conditions can have significant health impacts such as heatstroke, according to the SAWS.
