Saws Issues Heatwave Advisory For Gauteng

The South African Weather Service SAWS has issued a heatwave advisory for Gauteng . The extremely hot conditions are expected to persist until Saturday.

However, the province can still expect scattered thunderstorms over the weekend, with localized flooding predicted in low-lying areas.

Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela says isolated to a scattered chance of showers remains for the eastern provinces on Sunday, but will be scattered over the majority of Gauteng, including parts of North West, touching grounds of the southern areas of Mpumalanga.

Isolated showers and thundershowers will remain over KwaZulu-Natal into the east coast, stretching to the south coast.
