Sasol Urges People To Be On Their Guard Against Crime
Sasol has advised communities across South African towns and cities to be vigilant to avoid becoming victims of opportunistic criminals during the festive season.
Petrol stations are particularly at risk at this time of the year.
The company recently hosted its annual Safety Day across its network of petrol stations.
Sasols Head of Retail Operations, Donald Stuart says people need to be on their guard.
"So that is the one message that I would get out to the community - do not confront, do not make eye contact, do not make any moves that could agitate the perpetrator of the crime. Co-operate with them when they give you instructions, hand over whatever they ask for and when theyve left the scene of the crime, activate the support services that you need in terms of the police services or your security." -Reporting by Nompumelelo Siziba and Tshepo Mongoai.
