Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe has credited the Hawks investigators for securing the extradition of wanted fugitive Michael Lomas .
Lomas will be extradited back into the country this morning, by SAPS Interpol SA and will be handed over to the HAWKS.
Lomas was an Eskom employee and is wanted for fraud and corruption in-excess of R1.5 billion, that happened between 2008 and 2018 at the Kusile Power Station.
He allegedly manipulated numerous contracts. He was previously arrested and was granted bail, before fleeing the country to the UK.
He was arrested in London in 2021 and in August 2024, when his extradition was approved.
