Sandf Yet To Release Names Of Soldiers Killed In Northern Cape Crash

The South African National Defense Force SANDF is yet to release the names of two soldiers who died in a vehicle crash on the R31 between Delportshoop and Koopmansfontein in the Northern Cape yesterday afternoon.

At this stage it is still not clear what caused the crash but the polices preliminary investigation suspect rainy weather.

Seventeen SANDF members have been hospitalised due to injuries. The crash happened when their truck overturned.

Northern Cape police say they have opened a case culpable homicide case.

Earlier, the Provincial Police Spokesperson Sergio Kock said, "The SAPS are investigating a culpable homicide case following the accident involving a SANDF truck. Preliminary information indicates that the accident occurred on Friday afternoon."
