Sa Woman Arrested In Ethiopia With R5 Million Cocaine Haul

A 29-year-old woman was arrested in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Saturday after being caught with over R5 million worth of cocaine, as she had been making her way back to South Africa from Brazil, Cape town Etc reports.

Her arrest followed as a result of a joint collaboration between Gauteng SAPS counter narcotics intelligence unit and the Ethiopian Federal Police.

The SAPS intelligence unit alerted Ethiopian police officials of the smuggling attempt and the woman was subsequently arrested on arrival in Addis Ababa.

Upon arrest, she was found carrying 13kg of cocaine.

The woman is expected to be charged and set to appear in front of the Ethiopian courts.
