Sa Star Thuso Mbedu Cast In Another Major Hollywood Production

Award-winning actress Thuso Mbedu is set to star alongside household names including Viola Davis, Idris Elba and Amandla Stenberg in a new Paramount film.

The 33-year-old Pietermaritzburg-born actress first gained traction after starring in the South African teen drama series IsThunzi.

Mbedu was then nominated consecutively for an International Emmy in 2017 and 2018 for her role in the show.

Her other notable roles include that of Nawi in the critically acclaimed The Woman King , where she shared the screen with stars such as Viola Davis and Lashana Lynch.

Her starring role as Cora in Barry Jenkinss award-winning The Underground Railroad 2021 cemented the young actresss place in Hollywood as a formidable talent and rising star.
