Political analyst Dr. Alexander Rusero has emphasized that with South Africa assuming the G20 Presidency, Africa's voice will finally be heard on a global stage. Rusero believes that this marks an opportunity for Africa to participate as a strategic player, rather than continuing to be seen as a continent in need of aid.
Speaking after President Cyril Ramaphosa officially launched South Africas G20 Presidency at a media conference in Parliament, Rusero elaborated "I am very sure Africa's voice, which has long been marginalized, will for the first time be heard on critical platforms like the G20. We cherish and believe in South Africa taking the lead in this process, ensuring that the urgent issues facing Africa, which have often been sidelined, are revitalized and given the attention they deserve."
