Sa Farming Sector Is Vital For The Growth Agenda: Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the Department of Agriculture has launched a blended finance instrument in collaboration with the Land Bank to help farmers who require capital to continue growing the sector.

In his weekly letter, the President says that the inclusion of black farmers in commercial agriculture necessitates that land is made available.

He says t he farming sector of South Africa is vital for the growth agenda.

It has shown resilience in the past and will likely continue along this encouraging and promising path. It will therefore be critical that the sector embraces the onward march of transformation.

The President has highlighted the importance of the agricultural sector 13.7 billion US dollars in exports last year and by 2024, employed over 1 point I million people directly and in the sectoral value chain.
