'sa Citizens Registering Spaza Shops For Illegal Foreign Nationals
Deputy President Paul Mashatile says inspectors have proof that some South Africans are registering spaza shops on behalf of foreign nationals who do not have legal documents.
Last month, government announced that all spaza shops be registered by December 13.
Mashatile has cautioned South Africans against registering spaza shops on behalf of undocumented migrants.
He was answering oral questions in the National Council of Provinces yesterday.
Mashatile says, "The only worry we have is that there are those who register spaza shops for illegal foreigners, we must curb that. I don't have a problem if you are landlord and you hire your premises to others, but please don't register your shop that it is rented by illegal foreigners."
