sa animal rescue organisations receive massive donations from retailer

National retailer Absolute Pets recently made four donations, worth R100 000 each, to four animal welfare organisations to acknowledge and support the four organisations welfare work in their communities, Cape town Etc reports.

The welfare organisations, namely Cape Town-based Dead Animals Walking and Mdzananda, Gauteng-based AACL Johannesburg and New Hope Animal Rescue, were informed this week of their donation.

Animals and their welfare is at the core of everything we do as a business. With 175 stores nationwide, Absolute Pets has a strong connection with local animal welfare communities across the country and supporting the work they do is a major focus for us, said Genevieve Adams, Absolute Pets Marketing Manager.

With many South Africans that struggling financially, it has become a bigger challenge to put food on the table for the furry friends that are without a home.

New Hope Dog Rescue, a Johannesburg organisation, received almost 700kg of food valued at R156 075 and said they have been thrown a lifeline.
