The "World's Largest Cruise Ship" will undergo unplanned maintenance, and travelers will receive a refund for their canceled sailing.

Royal Caribbean informed cruisers planning to travel on the Icon of the Seas 7-night Western Caribbean sailing previously scheduled to begin Sept. 28 of the change in plans in an email this week.

The company is offering guests a 100% refund for their cruise fare as well as any meal and drink packages.

Guests who have booked flights through Royal Caribbean for the sailing will be automatically refunded. The cruise line will also provide up to $200 per guest for domestic US travel and $400 for international travel to cover any independent flight changes or cancellation fees.

The Icon of the Seas took its first trip out of PortMiami on Saturday, Jan. 27 .
