Remains Of Liberation Hero Aaron Tiro Return Home

Umkhonto WeSizwe Liberation War Veterans have expressed their relief and joy following the return of liberation hero Aaron Tiro's remains. Tiro is being reburied today in his hometown of Lekubu village, near Zeerust, in the North West.

His remains were repatriated from Zambia, and the veterans have described the reburial as a moment of closure for them. They also see it as an important step in honoring those who sacrificed their lives for South Africas freedom.

"We are very excited and happy that the remains of our comrade, Tiro, have finally returned to the land of his birth in South Africa, especially here in Zeerust," said one of the veterans. "We are humbled and rejoicing in the life of comrade Tiro."
