The Confederation of African Football CAF has punished CR Belouizdad and AS FAR for separate incidents involving their fans in the CAF Champions League in recent weeks. The Reds were charged with misconduct after their supporters set off smoke bombs during the Group C clash with Orlando PIrates at the Stade du 5 Juillet on November 26. Abdelkader Amranis side have been ordered to pay a fine of USD 10,000 of which USD 5,000 is suspended should they not repeat the offence in the next 12 months. The Militarians were similarly charged with misconduct for the use of smoke bombs and lasers by their fans during the Group B encounter with Mamelodi Sundowns at the Ben MHamed El Abdi Stadium on December 7. CAFs Disciplinary Board fined the Moroccan club USD 5,000 for the former and USD 10,000 for the latter, both amount which are to be paid in full. CR Belouizdad sit third in Group C and they will host defending champions Al Ahly on January 3, while AS FAR are level with Group B leaders Sundowns as they prepare for the visit of AS Maniema Union on January 4.
