Readers Report Bigger Safari Budgets

The results of Tourism Update s latest poll indicate positive industry consensus on travellers spending more on safaris.

Asked if they noticed travellers are willing to spend more on safaris than they did in the past, the largest proportion of our industry respondents 53 selected Yes. Only 27 said No and the remaining 20 were Unsure.

The results follow research by Go2Africa claiming that travellers are increasing their budgets for African safaris, booking their trips further in advance and showing growing interest in alternative destinations. According to Go2Africa, the average budget for a safari shifted from the US5500 to US6500 bracket in 2023 to between US5500 and US7500 in 2024.
