President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to co-chair the 11th Session of the Bi-National Commission BNC between South Africa and Nigeria alongside Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The commission is scheduled for next Tuesday in Cape Town, where the two nations will also celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations, which were first established in February 1994.
The BNC was elevated to a presidential level in March 2016, fostering high-level engagements between the two countries. South Africa and Nigeria share a mutual vision for the political and economic integration of the African continent. Currently, there are 34 agreements and memoranda of understanding MOUs between the two nations, spanning areas such as economics, technology, science, and more. This session will further strengthen their collaboration and explore new avenues for cooperation.
