President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that he has invited US President-elect Donald Trump for a state visit during the G20 Summit. Ramaphosa made the announcement while officially launching South Africa's Presidency of the G20 at a media briefing in Parliament.
South Africa has taken over the year-long rotational Presidency from Brazil and will pass it on to the USA.
Recently, Trump posted on social platform X formerly Twitter, urging countries in the BRICS bloc to commit to not establishing their own currency in opposition to the US dollar. He also reiterated threats of imposing a 100 tariff levy on certain goods.
