The chairperson of the Road Accident Fund RAF Board, Lorraine Francois, says they have detected duplicate payments valued at more than R1 billion.
The Board and Executives of RAF appeared before Parliaments Standing Committee on Public Accounts yesterday.
The committee is dealing with issues including amending legislation related to the RAFs accounting policy and financial performance.
Francois says they are working with the Auditor-General and the Special Investigating Unit SIU to deal with many issues at the entity.
We continue to co-operate with the SIU and together we have collected R1.2 billion of duplicate payments, some of the challenges we picked up on the system when the Board started on its turnaround strategy
