Radio And Climate Change

According to the United Nations UN, World Radio Day on February 13, 2025, is dedicated to "Radio and Climate Change" to support radio stations in their journalistic coverage of this issue.

Following the ongoing rise in the planets detrimental climate effects, including the confirmation that 2024 was the warmest year on record, the devastating damage wrought by the California wildfires and other similar climate change events.

Meanwhile on the local front, the SABC's 19 radio stations joined the global call to action with the theme Radio and Climate Change.

Leveraging their massive listenership, the SABC is amplifying climate awareness through impactful storytelling and journalism, driving urgent action on one of the worlds most pressing issues.
