Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC were among the biggest winners in the latest round of CAF Champions League preliminary fixtures, while Orlando Pirates stuttered against Madagascar outfit Disciples FC on neutral soil.
The Buccaneers and Disciples FC played their first round CAF Champions League preliminary game at a neutral venue, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw at the National Sports Complex Pitch 1 in Mauritania on Sunday evening.
While the South African side dominated large parts of the encounter, the Madagascan outfit proved to be a tough nut to crack defensively and often frustrated the Pirates attack force.
Elsewhere, Pyramids FC made light work of Zanzibar outfit Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi Sports Club with a convincing 6-0 victory at the Air Defence Stadium on Sunday.
The first fixture was initially scheduled to be played away from home, however, it was played in Cairo after JKU accepted to play the two legs in Cairo.
