Pup-up Shop New Mobile Clinics For Dogs And Cats
The Emma Animal Rescue Society TEARS has launched two innovative mobile clinics on Wednesday, 11 December, aimed at delivering veterinary care and educational training to underprivileged communities in Cape Town.
These mobile clinics are unique as they combine community education with veterinary services. Designed in collaboration with Advanced Vehicle Engineering at a cost of over R3-million, these vehicles function as a quotclassroom-on-wheels.quot
Externally, the trucks are equipped with a large TV screen and sound system, while the interior includes 26 cages for transporting cats and dogs, an examination table, a basin, and a fridge for medicines.
Mandy Store, TEARS' operations manager, emphasized the dual purpose of the trucks providing veterinary care and educating the youth. The interactive screens will engage young pet owners as they wait with their pets, fostering a new generation of responsible animal caregivers
