The National Energy Regulator of South Africa Nersa will kick off its public hearings in Cape Town today before heading to other provinces.
Eskom has applied to Nersa for a 36 electricity tariff hike from April next year.
Residents have expressed anger and frustration over Eskoms application.
Nersa's public hearings are scheduled to end on the fourth of next month in all nine provinces.
Eskom had asked for a 36 increase in electricity tariffs for the 2025 financial year.
