Psl Suspends All Royal Am Fixtures

The Premier Soccer League PSL has announced the suspension of all fixtures involving Royal AM until the beleaguered club is able to give assurances about honouring its matches.

Thwihli Thwahla were placed under curatorship by SARS following a raid on properties linked to controversial owner Shauwn Mkhize, who is rumoured to owe nearly R40 million in taxes.

The KZN outfit failed to pay their employees in December which led to the players going on strike earlier this month and the subsequent postponement of their Betway Premiership clash with Chippa United on January 11.

John Madukas squad has since returned to training and they were due to play against Orlando Pirates at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Thursday evening.

However, the PSL insisted it had been left with no choice but to cancel the game after failing to receive guarantees from Royal AM or the curator that no further disruptions to the fixture schedule would occur.
