Psa Concerned About The Dire State Of Disrepair At Tembisa Hospital

The Public Servants Association PSA has raised concerns about the dilapidation of the Tembisa Hospital in Gauteng.

In a statement, the PSA has noted the crumbling infrastructure, a shortage of essential resources and unsafe working conditions.

Its formally requested the Employment and Labour Department conduct an in-depth inspection of the hospital and issue recommendations for compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

PSA Pretoria organiser Madimetja Mautlae says the hospital is in a dire state of disrepair.

When you walk in the hospital you see cracked walls everywhere. Nothing seems to be working. The taps are not giving water, the doors are broken, the windows are broken, and the electric cables are hanging. Its a total disaster waiting to happen. In casualty, people are supposed to be coming in and assessed, assisted urgently and be allocated beds but there are no beds to be allocated. The patients are sleeping on the floor, the patients are sleeping on the wheelchairs.
