Proteas Gearing Up For A Semi-final Against New Zealand

South Africas national cricket team, the Proteas, is gearing up for their ICC Champions Trophy semi-final against New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

The mood in the camp is upbeat and the Proteas are confident that they can progress to Sundays final for the first time since 1998.

South Africa completed the group stage of the tournament in top spot defeating England by seven wickets in their final group B encounter.

Having also advanced to the final of the T20 World Cup in June last year and the semi-finals of the 50 over World Cup the previous year, the Proteas are oozing with confidence ahead of their semi-final clash against the Black Caps.

"The nerves is a little bit less because we have a bit more experience in the semi-final department now, we have been playing good cricket since I have been around from 2018. Just before COVID, we played some incredible cricket and even the team before us, as well played incredible cricket at ICC events, just had some bad luck here and there. Obviously, one of two games didn't go our way. We have been playing good cricket and that's the rewards that we have been feeling now. The boys are holding a little bit more composure in the bigger moments in the game, hopefully we can get into another final. We have got the experience now. The big boys need to step up on Wednesday," says Heinrich Klaasen, Proteas batsman.
