The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration has requested the Public Service Commission to investigate the appointment of the head of the Gauteng health department, Arnold Malotana.
This follows concerns about whether processes were followed for his appointment.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng condemned Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko for allegedly refusing to provide Malotanas qualifications.
The DA wrote to the Public Protectors office asking to investigate.
