Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a PDP chieftain, criticized the presidency for its response to former President Olusegun Obasanjo's comments on Nigeria's economic mismanagement under President Bola Tinubu. Obasanjo, speaking at the Chinua Achebe Leadership Forum at Yale University, described Nigeria's economic situation as dire and called for a change in the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
In response, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, accused Obasanjo of constitutional violations and infrastructure failures during his tenure.
Onanuga highlighted issues such as the impeachment of four state governors and the Halliburton bribery scandal. He also criticized Obasanjo's economic management and integrity.
Additionally, Sunday Dare, Tinubu's Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation, labeled Obasanjo as a mischief maker and accused him of running the most corrupt presidency in Nigeria's history, citing the 16 billion spent on power projects that failed to deliver results.
