Preparations are underway for the funeral of former Finance Minister and SA Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni at the Nkowankowa stadium in Limpopo on Saturday morning.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has accorded Mboweni a Special Official Funeral Category 2.
Ramaphosa has also directed that the national flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations in the country from this morning until Saturday morning.
Mboweni died on Saturday following a short illness at the age of 65.
Meanwhile, South African Revenue Service Commissioner Edward Kieswetter paid tribute to Mboweni whom he described as a fiercely independent individual.
