The Premier League has revealed that the Video Assistant Referee, VAR, agreed with referee David Cootes decision not to send Manchester Uniteds Lisandro Martinez off for his two-footed challenge on Daichi Kamada.
The incident took place in the 63rd minute of a 0-0 draw between United and Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Martinez jumped and planted both feet just centimetres from where Kamada was controlling the ball.
Although the United defender won the ball and didnt touch Kamada, Palace players were angry by the decision to only show Martinez a yellow card.
The Premier Leagues Match Centre account has since posted an explanation of the decision-making process on X.
