The standoff between the African National Congress ANC in the North West and its alliance partner, the South African National Civic Organisation SANCO, is intensifying.
SANCO has announced that it is disengaging from all alliance activities, citing frustrations over being sidelined in key decision-making processes by the ANC.
The tension between the two parties has escalated following the resignation of Tshepo Khoza, the former North West Legislature Deputy Speaker and SANCO provincial chairperson, who stepped down after being accused of faking his matric qualifications.
SANCO Provincial Secretary, Mogomotsi Mosheshe, expressed that the organization believes certain issues have not been properly addressed, contributing to their decision to withdraw from the alliance.
