porcupine warriors release 11 players

The rebuild is underway at Asante Kotoko after the Ghana Premier League club announced the departure of 11 players by mutual consent on Tuesday.

The Porcupine Warriors had high hopes for the 2023-24 season after they reappointed Prosper Narteh Ogum, who guided them to a record 24th league title two years earlier.

But Ogums return to the helm didnt have the desired effect as the team won just 14 of their 34 matches to finish in sixth place, 12 points behind champions Samartex.

The Kumasi giants have started to trim the squad, with two goalkeepers, four defenders, one midfielder, three wingers and a striker making their exits.

Kalo Ouattara made the most appearances of the bunch, having featured 24 times last term and scoring just four goals up front.
